* Technical lead on a project to replace DNS/DHCP systems (AD/Linux) at USPTO with a redundant Infoblox DDI infrastructure. Created and maintained a detailed design of the Infoblox Grid with network and data flow information.* Led efforts to successfully implement the replacement hardware . Lead UNIX Engineer, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), College Park, MD* Supervised and supported the day-to-day operations of UNIX-based systems in a large distributed network including a variety of system applications.* Provided operating system and hardware support for Sun Solaris Sparc and Linux x86 (Red Hat and SUSE) environments. Built systems, installed operating system patches, and upgraded software as required. * Provided technical support to NARA's Web Group. Helped implement changes and troubleshoot issues related to website maintenance (Apache, MySQL) in a Solaris Sparc environment. * In 2009, successfully replaced DNS BIND and NTP running on Sun Solaris servers in multiple locations with an Infoblox DNS appliance infrastructure. Supervised management of the new environment.* In 2013, coordinated the upgrade of the Infoblox infrastructure (both hardware and software) to current releases.* Managed a large NetBackup environment encompassing servers on the local network and using an automatic robotic tape library. Coordinated with other groups to back up their systems.* Acted as a technical consultant during NARA's implementation of DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC). Worked with NARA's Internet Service Provider (ISP) to help with the transition.

Lead UNIX Engineer, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), College Park, MD* Managed the day-to-day system support needs of a large distributed UNIX-based network and the associated hardware.Coordinated system work with other team members. Interacted with client staff to clarify and meet their needs. * Acted as technical team lead on a project to design and develop a server and network infrastructure in support of an application to search the NARA archives using a web browser. The infrastructure replaced a similar legacy environment. Responsibilities included oversight of the design and integration of Sun Solaris servers with an Oracle RAC database, an EMC storage area network, and Linux-based web servers.* Managed a team to design and implement a NetBackup environment of heterogeneous servers on a local network using an ADIC Scalar automatic robotic tape library.

* Responsible for support of several UNIX variants (IBM AIX, HP-UX 9.0, Sun Solaris. AT&T UNIX, SCO UNIX) and the applications that they support.* Managed and monitored a Veritas NetBackup environment of UNIX and Windows clients.
