Worked other areas within the hospital when needed: Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical Floor, and PACU.

Pursued by Hannibal Regional Hospital to teach their childbirth classes and later joined their team as a per-diem staff nurse working labor/delivery, postpartum and nursery.

Family case Manager for 80-100 clients at a time. Assessed nutritional needs and growth and development of children under 2 by performing in home visit. Cliets were given education related to the needs found on these visits. Also gave information on their own health and helping to make their child healthy re: nutrion and immunizations. Referrals to other agencies as needed for food, cash assistance, medical needs. Individual case manager for mothers during pregnancy and until child was 1-2 years old. Referrals to resources as needed and providing various types of education such as preventative health-care, child safety,immunizations, growth and development. Advocate for breastfeeding and member of the Breastfeeding Coalition.

Maternity Center Responsible for antenatal, perinatal and postnatal patients in highly technical and complex hospital environment. Computer charting when it was first establish in this hospital for labor and delivery. Participated in Postpartum Home Visit program. Taught childbirth classes. Member of the Prepared Childbirth Committee. Transfer nurse. Cross trained to assist Medical/Surgical floors during increased staffing needs.

Directly out of nursing school to a high tech, complex, medical surgical floor. Responsible for total patient care of 4-7 patients, including: ventilators, cardiac drips. blood transfusions and platelets.
