I am very happy to be working as the General Manager at Ratsey and Lapthorn Sailmakers in Cowes. The world's oldest sailmakers, Ratsey and Lapthorn have an incredible history of supplying sails to some of the most famous boats in the world and we're continuing to do just that more than 200 years later.Previously worked in the Hotel Trade within the luxury Country House Hotel and Spa sector of that industry in general management, conference and banqueting and weddings.Trained as a Yachting Cruising Instructor and worked full time for three years on board a variety of Yachts as Skipper/Instructor sailing to Spain, France, Channel Islands, Scilly Isles and Ireland as well as taking part in Offshore and Coastal Racing.Operated a Sailing School in Devon in Partnership with my husband before becoming a full time Mum, moved to the Isle of Wight and began training with the Open University to gain distinctions in Bookkeeping, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.Following the OU courses I built up a client base for general Bookkeeping, filing tax returns, Vat returns and payroll for a mix of clients. I found working on my own all the time a little unfulfilling so I also went back to my catering routes for a time (alongside the bookkeeping), making healthy breakfasts and soups for delivery as well as making canapes for the odd drinks party.
