I was hired by the Board to get the Children's Discovery Museum (CDM) open to the public with a short turn-around time. The CDM had been closed for two years due to Covid. The volunteer pool was non-existent, and there were a few safety & regulatory issues that needed addressed. I opened the CDM seven days after hire. In addition, we held a successful fund-raiser 30 days later.

Kelso Rotary focuses on projects to benefit the youth of the community.To address the need to prepare pre-schoolers for school, Kelso Rotary partnered with United Way of Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties to bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program to the two counties. Eventually, all four Cowlitz County Rotary Clubs joined to become the initial Sponsoring Funders of the program, which was launched in May 2019. Each year, Kelso Rotarians participate in projects which benefit the community.Past projects include:City of Kelso road cleanup. The members of Kelso Rotary clean the area in front of Huntington Middle School plus join in on any city wide clean up days.The Catlin Spray Park, in partnership with the Longview Rotary clubs we clean and maintain the spray park. Have provided additions to the park in the past and are always looking for ways to add or improve that park for our community.High School Scholarships encourage our youth to continue their education by recognizing distinguished scholars with annual scholarships. I am an afternoon volunteer with FISH. FISH enables people to get food, fill prescriptions, see a dentist, pay overdue water or PUD bills, get footwear or clothing required for a new job or fill a variety of other emergency needs.FISH is an all-volunteer nonprofit. Salary costs over the decades total $0.00. Administrative costs average less than 4% of annual spending.All services begin with a phone call to a friendly volunteer on the FISH line (360-636-1100).FISH provides only goods and services. It does not hand out cash.FISH partner with 18 churches in Longview and Kelso to give away food five days a week.We work with local businesses and agencies that bill FISH for goods and services, such as medications, propane, work attire, dental care and eye exams and glasses.

I assisted the Social Worker with tasks as needed, including designing and reorganizing the food pantry., interviewing clients, and working on special projects with clients (helped clients complete state aid forms, obtain free government phones, etc.). I was contracted with to fill-in for the Corps receptionist and also to drive the bell ringers to and from their assigned locations. In addition, I assisted with the count of donations, helped with the Angel Tree, and prepared meals for the public.

This was a part time/temp position.I overhauled all of the policy and procedures of this home health agency in order to meet the standards and guidelines required by the State of Kansas for a Home Healthcare Agency. In addition, I interviewed, hired, trained, and fired employees. I also worked directly with clients as a home health aide when needed.

I worked with individuals on a long term care waiver, such as the FE, TBI, PD, and in 2014, the I/DD waiver. I completed assessments with clients to identify their health and safety needs with the goal of connecting them with services to allow them to stay in their home safely. If the client lived in a nursing home and wanted to return to the community, I would assess whether that was viable and then refer them to my colleagues who would help them gain their independence again.

In this position I completed BioPsychoSocial histories with patients assigned to me. I worked with my patient's providing discharge planning and coordination of care for when they were back in their community. That included arranging housing options and follow-up care for them. I provided case management services while the client was in-patient. I participated in weekly multidisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.

I began my work at SRS at the front desk providing customer services, helping clients with copy work, and obtaining specific forms and generic information. I was chosen to be part of the Title IV-E program and was able to return to college to earn a Social Work degree. As a Social Work Specialist, I investigated and assessed child abuse, neglect and non-abuse/neglect cases. I met with clients in a variety of settings (home, school, hospital, and office); I worked primarily in the rural counties. A crucial part of my job was to document client and SW interactions through electronic and manual media. I also attended court, case planning meetings, and wrap-around sessions. I was responsible to complete legal documentation of the cases, including affidavits, court reports, and KDHE reports. I was privileged to be ordered by the court to work with a number of families directly rather than referring them on to contracted service providers.
