I love to empower people to share their voice in a meaningful way that leads to positive change. I am proud of my ability to partner with legislators, staff and constituents across the political spectrum to advance policies to improve health status, access to care, and the highest quality of life for all in our state.An unexpected meeting (my husband), led me to Wisconsin and a front row seat in influencing public policy and regulations. Throughout my career, I have increased advocacy capacity and engagement resulting in laws and regulations that improve health in Wisconsin. My proudest accomplishment is establishing a smoke-free environment for all to enjoy in Wisconsin. I have also built grassroots capacity for organizations to increase member engagement, build relationships statewide, and successfully move forward legislative priorities. I translate process, legislation and regulations to educate, engage and motivate those who have been on the sidelines.I look forward to exploring opportunities to build on my skills and relationships to benefit our communities.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Lead advocacy campaign for DSPN members increasing the Direct Care Workforce Fund by $104 million (all funds) over the 2021-2023 biennium• Author successful grant application to bring workforce recruitment, retention and culture program to Wisconsin HCBS providers• Built grassroots advocacy program for 18 Community Health Centers to identify, train and increase number of Health Center advocates • Doubled volunteer and member participation in on-line and off-line advocacy activities resulting in legislative victories for smoke-free workplaces, state and federal program funding and sustainable reimbursement• Doubled networking and learning opportunities for professional women in public service through gala fundraising and expanding events outside of Madison
