I worked as the Front Office Administrator dealing with children aged between 5-18 on a daily basis and was the first port of call for parents and careers when they had worries or concerns.Keeping track of pupil attendance, sickness and admissions was a key part of my daily tasks.

This is where my journey down the path of the wedding industry began. Working at a popular hotel and wedding venue as a wedding and events co-ordinator was the job I had aspired to do when leaving the military. I learned valuable skills here in both wedding planning and the events and hospitality industry. I have always committed 100% to every task that I’m involved in which transferred perfectly to assisting people with one of the most special days of their lives. I oversaw the venue based arrangements such as on the day scheduling and dealt with the couples catering requirements. I got to know the couples on a personal level and hopefully became their rock and the stability they needed on their wedding day and planning journey. Dealing with many different suppliers of wedding products I learned quickly the costs of a wedding and the best way to achieve the most efficient and professional outcome. Learning to work for the venue but also being on the side of the client was key for me. This employment was extremely valuable and allowed me to gain the experience needed to be successsful as an independent wedding planner. I’ve taken everything I learned here and progressed it to the next level.

My time in the British Army was mostly spent in a logistic based roll. Living and working in a variety of countries and with a large selection of individuals from all sorts of cultural and religious backgrounds.I trained as a Movement Controller in 2002 and was posted directly to Germany where I immediately got involved in a close team overseeing road, rail, sea and air movement. Supervising border crossings and dealing with customs was a daily occurrence. Maintaining a high fitness level was important as well as ensuring my knowledge of current logistic rules and regulations was key to my success. I attended regular courses to improve my knowledge of general logistics management and increased my qualifications in IMDG, IATA and RID.When posted back to the UK on promotion I was able to run detachments and take responsibility for important tasks. Deployed to various countries either on my own or with a small team to ensure equipment and personnel were transferred safely from one area to another, sometimes in not too safe environments. During my time in the British Army I worked in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Iraq, Afghanistan, USA, Canada and Poland. I enjoyed my time traveling and learning new things which I have been lucky enough to bring to future employment. I have learned great personal strength through some tough experiences which has made me the person I am today.
