A while ago, someone asked me what I like best, and least, about my job. I told them what I like best is that it’s always something different, and I never know what’s going to come up. Then I thought about what I like least and said… it’s always something different, and I never know what’s going to come up!Seriously though, I’m glad a have a multifaceted job. I am fortunate that I get to work with a variety of people, ranging from business partners to our Creative Department to our IT programmers. This really gives me a broad range of experience which is invaluable when it comes to problem solving. And there are always problems to solve, like working out the details of new catalogs, or creating reporting in Excel to better understand data.All of the juggling I have to do meet deadlines, and complete projects, really feeds my need to organize. It’s great when all of the bases are covered, and everyone is working toward a common goal. For instance, I coordinated the budget process for the Marketing Department, which covers two locations. The budgeting process is always a wild ride, but in the end our budgets were submitted and approved on time. Not to mention the normal, every day complexity of managing 10 catalogs that mail each month, on 4 different schedules.
