Key responsibilities includes:• Development, implementation and maintenance of Corporate and workplace specific safety programs for a employer with diverse needs. • Competent and experienced in industrial hygiene sampling, analysis and providing recommendations for corrective actions.• Performs through workplace inspections, job site audits and incident investigations with recommendations to prevent recurrences.• Works collaboratively with disability management staff to achieve a safe and early return to work for staff.• Supports the wellness program initiatives through promotion and participation.• Supportive mental health advocate, trained in Critical Incident Stress Management - Group Crisis Intervention.• Strong knowledge and understanding of OHSA and regulations (including Industrial, Health Care & Residential Facilities and Construction Regulations), the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Building Code, the Fire Code, the Human Rights Code, and various CSA standards • Conducts workplace violence and harassment risk assessments and facilitates training sessions.• Builds strong symbiotic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.• Applies tact and diplomacy when dealing with the Ministry of Labour, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and technical, professional and management staff.• Supports multiple Joint Health and Safety Committees to ensure internal responsibility system is working effectively.• Excellent problem solving, decision making, communication and conflict resolution skills.• Process Mapping Certification through Excellence Canada• Auditor for Mueller's Environmental Health and Safety Management System audited sites in Canada and the USAResponsible for 3 sites in different jurisdictions including in Canada - Ontario, and Alberta, in the USA - California.
