I am an analytical chemist with 30+ years’ experience operating instrumentation and interpreting data in various environmental, pharmaceutical, and academic test labs. • Worked for 3 years during and after college graduation working with GC-FID (gas chromatography - flame ionization detection) research at University of Michigan.• Earned a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at University of Vermont with focus in atomic emission spectroscopy (plasma atomic emission, ICP: inductively coupled plasma). • I supervised/managed an automotive emissions chemistry testing laboratory for 6 years where GC-FID, HPLC-UV among other techniques were used to characterize fuels and exhaust and evaporative emissions from vehicles; became knowledgeable about regulations governing that industry and presented research at industry meetings. Supervised analysts and was a project director, with direct interaction with customers.• Taught chemistry at the college (and high-school) level for 9 years while living in Colorado. I was a fulltime Senior Instructor at University of Colorado Denver for most of that time. I taught analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis along with general chemistry. Worked with chromatographic and spectroscopic instrumentation for laboratory experiment preparation as well as student research projects.• Worked in a tobacco/smoke testing laboratory for 2 years where smoke samples from cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes were collected on smoke machines and then analyzed via GCMS, HPLC-MS, HPLC-UV techniques.• Worked in a GMP CRO/CMO lab (Catalent – my current employer) specializing in elemental impurity identification, using techniques such as GFAAS, FAAS, FAES, ICP-AES, ICP-MS, hot block and microwave digestion. Supervised analysts and was a project director, with direct interaction with customers.• Moved to Organics lab in April 2019 (Catalent – my current employer, GMP work). Assist Project Director in managing FTE Program, data review, supervision of FTE analysts. I am hoping to gain further technical training and MS data collection experience.
