CurrentAs a Reading Intervention Specialist, I support students in grades 1-8 through targeted small group interventions, ensuring each child develops essential reading skills. I also work with multilingual learners, providing crucial language development support to help them thrive in their new linguistic environment. I am a firm believer in the science of reading and advocate for its application to address the needs of all students. In an era where many curriculums support only 80% of readers, I champion a comprehensive approach that guarantees literacy for 100% of learners. Everyone deserves the gift of literacy, and I am committed to making that a reality.My responsibilities include:- Conduct assessments to identify students' reading levels and language development needs.- Develop and implement individualized reading intervention plans for students in grades 1-8.- Provide small group instruction tailored to support struggling readers.- Offer targeted support for multilingual learners, enhancing their English language proficiency.- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate effective reading strategies into daily instruction.- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.- Utilize evidence-based practices grounded in the science of reading.- Create engaging and inclusive learning materials that reflect diverse cultures and backgrounds.- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes literacy for all students.- Engage with parents and families to support literacy development at home.- Advocate for literacy programs and resources that support all students, especially those with diverse linguistic backgrounds.- Stay current with research and developments in reading instruction and English language development.
