I worked at Stetson School in Barre Massachusetts as a Special Educator in the area of Mathematics through a waiver. My responsibilities include teaching Science, English, and Mathematics in a special education setting. As well as preparing IEP and ISP for each individual student. This experience has introduced me to several variations of IEP forms for several states including Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York just to name a few.

My multi-faceted employment at UCB included a number of components: staff instructor for the Pre-College Academy during the summers of 2001 and 2002, where I taught two Geometry classes to one hundred students. My responsibilities included lesson planning for the 15-week summer program and training my Teacher's Assistant. I participated in the AmeriCorps-a government-aided program to encourage teaching in communities of need. Under the auspices of the Outreach Program, I worked in a number of school sites in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. I received course credit for some of this work.

I received a great deal of training in the position, including a three-week summer session for collegiate program. I also attended the Sacramento Student Opportunity Access Program's 4 day training, and achieved a certificate for this rigorous course work. In terms of teaching, I worked in Oakland's inner city junior and senior high schools as a co-teacher and I did individual tutoring after classroom sessions, where I grew to understand the strategies behind various after-school programs.

Under the jurisdiction of MESA, I co-taught and tutored Calculus, with student population of the than sixty students. Classes met on the UC Berkeley campus.

As a tutor for these junior colleges, my students as well as peers were returning students who worked with other tutors to develop an effective support system. As a teacher's assistant, I held my own classes in Geometry and Algebra I.
