Well that’s a wrap folks! 37+ years in the meetings industry and Friday was my last day on the job. I've retired from a very successful career that I’m extremely proud of and met so, so many wonderful people over the years that mean the world to me. I’ve loved every single moment of it all and wouldn’t change a thing!! Now the fun begins! Logistics included: ground trans arrangements, hotel room block mgmt, food and beverage arrangements and on-site mgmt- Select key suppliers, prepare budgets negotiate and execute contracts in compliance with Procurement guidelines, audit and process payment on behalf of client's business units and associated service groups- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with resource and service providers- Coordinate all details of function in advance, onsite and post meeting, including reconciliation of invoices and auditing budgets and meeting files to ensure accuracy- Prepare details for mailing meeting information to attendees and compile returns- Plan and manage all “Special Events” to include retirement dinners, Christmas parties, banquets, golf tournaments and arrangements for visiting dignitaries- Serve as a valued advisor to client in analyzing and recommending the most productive, cost-effective venues and formats for business meetings and events resulting in tracked annual savings of approximately $456KAdministrative Assistant duties to include:- Perform heavy administrative duties (i.e. correspondence handling, mail handling, answering phones, commission check deposits, supplies ordering, etc.) required by Manager, Meetings Planner, and Travel Supervisor of Travel & Meetings Department- Compile data and produce management information reports regarding company’s business travel- Compile all departmental statistics necessary to maintain personnel records, budget records and produce statistical and quality control reports for the Reservations staff- Review hotel invoices and meeting budgets for accuracy and revise as required or necessary
