Ms. Vance has more than twenty years total work experience in the field of systems/software engineering and process improvement.She is currently serving as the Lead Process Engineer and Control Account Manager for the System Engineering and Integration Contract (SEIC) program for the US Air Force. She has extensive experience as a process engineer, technical lead, requirements analyst, test engineer and all other engineering roles development projects, each of these roles utilizing her organizational and process skills. Ms. Vance worked on several large projects involving the analysis, design and implementation of sub-systems of the overall project, the primary being a database to integrate the GRASS GIS with .dbf format database files using the C language, X-Windows and a 3rd party database toolkit. She wrote a 200+ page users' manual documenting the aforementioned application using FrameMaker. She provided technical support for users requesting assistance on both the operating system and general UNIX applications and the software system currently being developed. Ms. Vance also served as the System Administrator for approximately 10 PC workstations running SVR4 UNIX. Her duties included the determination and acquisition of hardware and software, installation and maintenance of the UNIX operating system and other applications, maintenance of the LAN (Ethernet) design, design of the local internet access plan, installation of operating systems and software on PCs and Macintosh computers, including Networking software, and installation and maintenance of a SUN workstation running the SUN OS, and later Solaris, which served as the office mail-server for approximately 50 staff members.
