Littelwoods Home Shopping GroupLittlewoods Group Sep 1985 - 1997Key Responsibilities• During this time I started as a Warehouse Operative and undertook all roles within the operation whilst working at that level. • I was a Safety Representative and oversaw Safety of the Bolton Area which included, Returns, Distribution, Picking and Packing Operations and Transport.• I moved to a management role at 24 and supervised on all departments ensuring targets were met and the work flowed correctly. I also oversaw Quality Control. • I was responsible for ensuring jobs were completed in the smallest number of steps required to ensure maximum gains. Kaizen and Lean 5 philosphies were enshrined in the business. Key Acheivements• I took the role of Safety Representative aged 18 for the 5 Mills that the Littlewoods Group worked from in the Bolton Area.• I won a national award that was based on my Safety Work in 1989. • I was put forward for Cosmopolitan Woman of the year 1990 and was a finalist in the politics section (10 ladies per section). • I studied at night school alongside my full time job to move in to a Safety role. I moved to another Division of the Littlewoods Group which was Index Stores. I would later return to Warehousing and Home Shopping when the business became Group.
