Chief Magistrate Lisa Wiseman is a dedicated supporter of our community, who protects the interests of individuals with incapacities, oversees estate administrations, and ensures the fair and efficient adjudication of probate matters. Chief Magistrate Wiseman plays a pivotal role on the Court’s team, working with other justice partners to develop a county-wide, multi-agency case management and eFiling system, designed to enhance access to justice and maximize efficiency.Chief Magistrate Wiseman holds appointments on the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Advisory Committee on Language Services, Probate Curriculum Committee, and Assisted Outpatient Treatment Workgroup. Additionally, she serves on the Ohio Judicial College’s Planning Committee, mentors new magistrates through the Ohio Judicial College, and is an active member of the Dayton Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Ohio Association of Magistrates. Before joining the Court, Chief Magistrate Wiseman achieved board certification as a specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law, after earning her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. She then served as a partner in a distinguished firm’s private client group, advising clients on a broad range of personal, family, business succession, asset protection, and tax planning matters. Believing in the power of community collaboration, Chief Magistrate Wiseman feels privileged to serve in a meaningful way. She actively volunteers and has held leadership roles in numerous professional, charitable, and civic organizations. She has authored articles for various professional journals and news publications, including the Dayton Business Journal, Dayton Bar Briefs, and Dayton Daily News. Additionally, she frequently teaches and presents at a variety of professional, educational, charitable, and civic events.
