Following a long standing career with the City of Burlington, as the Assistant Director of Recreation & Parks, I oversaw the daily operations and management of the Burlington Recreation and Parks Department. This included knowledge of business planning, finance and budgeting, policy development, program administration, strategic management of staff and components of building citizen relationships. With an extensive background in event planning, I have been an adjunct professor in the Sport & Event Management major for over three years teaching a leadership and service driven class titled, Program & Event Management.

• Supervised the community programming division of the department, which includes a staff of seven full time employees and their part time staff.• Oversaw the operation of six community center sites and the Paramount Theater with total operational budgets exceeding $1 million dollars.• Developed Latino programming opportunities for the community such as, Team Discovery program for children ages 11-14, and Project LIFT (Learning Is Fun Together) after school tutoring program.• Created the Department’s first web site in 1998.• Developed Department wide corporate partnership and sponsorship program.• Created outdoor programming opportunities such as “Sunset Canoe & Kayak Trips”.• Established position of Marketing Assistant to evaluate and promote the department and activities to the community.
