As the House Director for the Alpha Phi sorority at Michigan State University, I manage the daily operations and maintenance of a historic, 87-year-old property that is home to 51 sorority members. Living in the house 24/7, I ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment that aligns with both the needs of the residents and the standards of the sorority.Responsibilities include: Property Management: Oversee all aspects of house maintenance, including regular checks and upkeep of essential systems like internet connectivity, heating, and plumbing. Safety & Security: Maintain and monitor the house’s security system, including cameras and an automatic door-locking system, to ensure the safety and peace of mind of all residents. Resident-Focused Dining: Collaborate with the cooking staff to provide diet-friendly meals that accommodate the diverse dietary needs of the residents, ensuring everyone has access to nutritious and enjoyable options. Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance tasks to address and resolve issues proactively, ensuring the longevity of the property’s structure and systems. Vendor Coordination: Partner with vendors for necessary repairs, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Grounds Oversight: Manage the appearance and maintenance of the surrounding grounds, contributing to a welcoming and well-kept environment. In my fully remote role, I manage the installation of high-speed internet and HPBX phone systems for business clients, overseeing every detail from initial planning to completion. My responsibilities include:Site Survey & Planning: Conduct virtual site surveys to confirm all technical requirements. For projects needing boring, I coordinate with contractors, customers, and building owners to secure necessary Utility Access Agreements.Custom System Design: Collaborate with clients to design tailored HPBX phone systems, configuring main line settings, custom ring preferences, hunt groups, and auto attendants for an optimized communication experience.Installation Scheduling & Training: Once the system design is approved, I coordinate installation dates with all involved parties and arrange virtual training sessions with our HPBX phone specialists to ensure customers are prepared to use their new system.Order Completion & Follow-Up: Following installation, I finalize billing in Q Manager, close the order in PEGA, and check in with clients remotely to confirm satisfaction and successful setup.Fiber Construction Oversight: When fiber construction is required, I monitor the build progress, providing regular updates to customers remotely, keeping them informed even during extended timelines.This remote position demands meticulous attention to detail, effective virtual communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, customized solutions for clients nationwide.
