Key success: I re-vitalised and re-designed the pricing structure for the UK Visioncare business aligning it to core business strategy and future goals and took this from initial concept to a fully operational model. • Management of 3 divisions Novartis (Alcon, Sandoz & Pharma) for compliance including internal and external reporting for SOX 302 and 404.• Project Lead for SAP upgrade for the financial compliance and controls UK (one of two pilot markets worldwide) and Global Transparency Project (payments to doctors and professionals) for Alcon UK division.• SME for financial controls in SAP including enterprise assets GRC (segregations of duties) & Runbook (automated workflow for controls)• Line management of the compliance team of specialists• Vertical and horizontal interactions sharing best practice and knowledge cross division and above country.

During this time I set up and ran my own business as a dual offering providing accountancy services to several clients including J&S Fish Supplies, Concept Sport & CibaVision. My second business was part time Fitness instructor running 2 running clubs and teaching fitness classes.

I decided to continue my personal interest in fitness and studied for the Advanced Personal Trainer and exercise referral qualification.

I managed the transition of the US finance function and integrated it into the UK team whilst continuing to service the US market to a high standard. Areas included: segregation of duties, mapping US set of books to UK, setting up a system to service US customers and suppliers, communicating the change to all parties affected, refining banking powers and control remotely of US bank accounts). I also maintained distribution for US market after warehouse fire and then subsequent change of US warehouse. This included resolving an insurance claim and negotiating out of existing warehouse contract. I successfully renegotiated the warehouse contract rates for Hong Kong warehouse whilst overseeing Supply Chain operations for the business, ensuring maximising efficiency and effectiveness of the service globally.(To include third party warehouses in HK, NY and UK. 1 direct report)
