Over her 35-year global career, Lisa Baiton has amassed a unique confluence of strategic perspectives on issues that are currently top-of-mind for management teams and boards, including: the impact effective enterprise management of geopolitical, political, regulatory, stakeholder and reputation risks have on competitive positioning, access to capital, market access, regulatory certainty, social license, and shareholder, stakeholder and public support.In 2022, Lisa was appointed the 6th CEO (and first female) of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, the voice of Canada’s upstream oil and gas industry. Lisa spent 1/3 of her career through 3 CEO tenures on the global leadership team of one of the largest and fastest growing institutional investors in the world (CPP Investments) as its first Managing Director & Head of Global Public Affairs. She built a new geopolitical risk management function as the Fund expanded its global footprint, including into emerging markets, with responsibility for strategy and program execution in 56 countries. Lisa was VP & Practice Lead, Government Relations for Environics Communications, a North American public affairs firm where she provided executive-level counsel to highly regulated large multinational corporate clients. She worked for one of Canada's largest industry associations, the Canadian Bankers Association, and as a policy maker in three Canadian governments (Saskatchewan, Federal, Ontario) with oversight for the development and implementation of cornerstone legislative and regulatory priorities.Lisa has a BA in Political Science (University of Saskatchewan), an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University) and Schulich School of Business (York University), with global electives completed at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. Lisa has an Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D certification (Univ. of Toronto Rotman School of Management).
