As the Director of Growth and Development, I have the honor of providing support to our leadership staff, connecting with our community for recruitment and partnership purposes, and doing my best to cultivate a welcoming environment within our team. I am also helping lead our agency's Christian Counseling Program. This program has become very dear to my heart and I'm excited to discover where God is leading us. Please check out our website and see a virtual tour of our office at: https://www.pillarstherapy.com/join-our-team/Additional Background:I am a graduate of Valparaiso University where I received a bachelors of science in psychology and a masters of arts in clinical mental health counseling.My passion for counseling began when I was involved in a faith-based girls confidence camp.  I enjoyed connecting with the campers on a deep level and I quickly discovered the impact of therapy, especially through a Christian perspective.My background involves working as a qualified mental health counselor at the Lake County Jail. I also have experience counseling at a woman’s recovery home and facilitating team building for children on an outdoor ropes course. Following graduation, I worked at Family Concern Counseling where I provided outpatient therapy for 2.5 years. Some of the most rewarding experiences while at FCC included: growing and learning from my coworkers, meeting wonderful clients, and cofacilitating a therapy group for women survivors of sexual assault. Once starting at Pillars of Wellness, I stepped into the role of Clinical Director at the Valparaiso Office. It was incredible to watch our team grow and to help solidify policies as we continued to develop, both as a team and an agency. Pillars makes it a priority to take care of their clinicians (with the understanding that cared for clinicians will naturally lead to best care for clients) and that is exactly what this company has done for me. After returning from maternity leave in the beginning of 2023, I have stepped into the new role of Director of Growth and Development.
