The award-winning Medina County Gazette is a six-day, daily publication privately owned by the Lorain County Printing and Publishing Co. serving Medina County in Northeast Ohio. It has a daily circulation of over 14,000 subscribers.

The Chronicle-Telegram is a privately owned newspaper serving Lorain County in Northeast Ohio. It has a daily circulation of over 24,000 subscribers.As the City Government Reporter, my primary duties include investigating news tips, networking with sources and obtaining public records under the Ohio Sunshine Law which leads to my writing 10 to 12 articles per week. In addition, I regularly collaborate with the editorial team to create larger package projects complete with detailed copy, photographs and web content. This is all done to accomplish my goal of increasing exposure of the Elyria area through targeted coverage of city issues.

The Chillicothe Gazette is a subsidiary of the Gannet Co. Inc., one of the largest international news and information companies in existence. The Chillicothe Gazette is one of the oldest newspapers west of the Alleghenies with a daily circulation of nearly 17,000 subscribers. There, I was responsible for networking daily with key community leaders and elected officials to produce two by-lined stories per day communicated the news of interest to the public, including writing news, feature and business articles as needed. I also worked along side Sheriff Ron Nichols as the sole media representative for the Ross County Sheriff’s Office Community Law Enforcement Academy. I coupled the above responsibilities with my work assisting new reporters in how to develop stories and cultivate sources.
