Following on from previous role and submission of Gatwick’s bid for a second runway, selected to head up programme and take proposal further into setting out of business case, this involved influencing of key stakeholders such as Department of Transport, Chairman and Shareholders, despite award to Heathrow. Acted as a consultant to the shareholders.

Handpicked to drive delivery of Gatwick’s submission to Government Independent Commission in response to proposal for a second runway in the South East. Collated and delivered 39 technical submissions involving coordination of around 40 suppliers and resulted in selection to second place behind Heathrow Airport.

Submitted Gatwick’s regulatory plan to Civil Aviation Authority and advocated innovation through identification of alternative funding sources, this was considered the blueprint for others. Outlined proposals for positive improvements and changes aligned with CAA guidelines to improve services.

Broke new ground with proposal for future capital investment and pioneered the concept of using market research session attended by the public to feed into negotiations with airlines. Set out Gatwick’s investment vision for future and received 100% positive responses from airlines, a first for Gatwick.

Played integral role in joining up the delivery and development teams on major EPC projects, liaised with Executive Management Board to influence critical decisions and supported approval for various lifecycles, including retail terminal reconfiguration and construction of a new car rental building.

Took full control of £200M+ north terminal landside portfolio aimed at transforming this facility through a new road layout, reconfiguration of main building, alternative entrance and new multi-storey carpark. Oversaw end-to-end lifecycle delivery and yielded substantial cost savings totalling up to £30M.

Promoted to Development Manager. Managed business cases for projects valued from £1M up to £40M, protected quality and oversaw multi-disciplinary teams, including external contractors. Delivered complex £40M terminal extension programme; handled entire lifecycle from initial business case development, approval, planning, governance and progress tracking.

Promoted to Lead the retail operation and was responsible for £50m the retail income in the South Terminal at Gatwick.
