Lisa’s mission is to empower clients (autistic / with autism) and caregivers, and to show them what is possible for them in a joyful respectful way. To this end she has received additional training and holds the FTF Behavioral Consulting Level 4 credential for lead implementation in the practical functional assessment and skill-based treatment of severe problem behaviour. Lisa is also trained and certified in Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions as a JASPER implementer, a JASPER caregiver coach, a JASPER local trainer, and an Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapist. Lisa’s career has spanned over 18 years and has encompassed teaching with a Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) approach, teaching with a Verbal Behaviour approach, teaching with high engagement during JASPER play routines, and increasing generalization and advanced language skills using the EBIC (degli Espinosa, 2011). Lisa has also been a member of the Seneca College Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) since 2014, and was co-chair of the committee from September 2016 to July 2018. She has also written several articles for the Autism Matters magazine, and an article for the Autism Advocate.
