Science content strategist with extensive experience in journalism and strategic communications. I develop, lead, and execute communication strategies for science groups. I have written a book, Women in Science Now: Stories and Strategies for Achieving Equity, featuring social science-based research on ways to reduce gender inequity, which will be published by Columbia University Press (fall 2023). I have more than 20 years of experience translating complex science into digestible stories and building loyal audiences. I have developed, written, edited, and placed Op-eds and articles in high-profile publications, such as the New York Times, USA Today, Huffington Post, and Scientific American. I have worked with scientific societies, a VC fund, sci-tech startups, an international UN organization, and other institutions to maximize their visibility through videos, conferences, blogs, social media, and white papers, in addition to more traditional press. I began my career in radio and then print journalism, as a reporter and then managing editor of a science magazine. My expertise spans neuroscience and the behavioral sciences, biological sciences, climate and energy, and the earth sciences.
