Clients included experts from organizations such as the Brookings Institution, Stanford University, USC, Aflac, the UN Foundation, Duke University, the American Lung Association, the American Express Foundation and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce.My role at NCE was to help establish the business and to manage the company's sales and internal operations.Highlights:• Co-developed NCE’s Media Certification course. This course established an industry standard for print, radio and television interview readiness.• Recruited nationally recognized broadcast journalists to serve as NCE media strategists and regional sales reps.• Managed NCE’s sales processes, developed NCE sales materials. Delivered and closed sales and trained new salespeople. Helped to grow revenue from inception to $500K (2010).• Planned and managed all facets of NCE’s “Influencing the Headlines” national seminars. • Developed and oversaw a system for managing NCE’s client delivery process. Execute client contracts and provided editorial guidance and approve the publication of NCE experts’ profile pages. • Internal Operations: Managed invoicing and payments for vendors, full-time staff and 1099 employees via QuickBooks. Oversaw HR issues.

Served as the psychology expert for the CNN Student News curriculum development team. Worked with CNN's Content Sales and Marketing Units to initiate new business opportunities and create cutting-edge, multimedia educational initiatives that leveraged CNN’s company-wide resources. Highlights:• Helped develop the initiative "Fit Nation with Dr. Sanjay Gupta", which included a national college tour, a Web special and TV segments that focused on fighting obesity.• Traveled to Hong Kong to meet with Turner Asia’s executives to generate opportunities for educational partnerships with CNN Student News. • Co-developed and helped run "21st Century Leaders: Leadership Unplugged: A CNN Experience." Held at GA Tech Univ., this award-winning, company-wide initiative enables Georgia high school students to develop leadership skills though workshops and hands-on experiences in broadcast journalism. • Co-created "CNN America Votes 2004 Teaching Kit." This CD-ROM contained multimedia resources, teaching activities and a game to help students learn about the U.S. presidential election process.• Represented CNN Student News at national educational conferences. Met with educational publishers to initiate new business opportunities, including video supplements for Holt, Rinehart and Winston textbooks.• Created, edited and published the award-winning CNN Student News Daily Online Curriculum Guide. Consulted with TV news and Web production staff on educational, editorial, format and design issues. Developed content for CNN.com/EDUCATION, including articles and Web specials for events such as the U.S. presidential elections and the 9/11 attacks. • Project managed "Behind the Scenes at CNN: The War in Iraq: A Case Study." Interviewed CNN executives and journalists to document CNN’s coverage of the war. This online product was used as the basis for a live, interactive, multimedia event between U.S. schools and CNN.• Trained and managed Turner Learning curriculum writers.
