Founded the Wild and Scenic Rivers Coalition in 2017. Lead this growing national alliance of more than 50 non-profit river friends groups to build cohesive capacity for effective river stewardship and advocacy by: liaising with Federal river agency leaderships and program offices to create cohesive working relationships between non-profits and the Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, and National Park Service; facilitating exploration of emerging river topics including climate change and Indigenous collaboration and drafting position statements and actions; hosting annual DC flyins that are attended by nearly 150 river advocates and have raised the profile of wild and scenic rivers through meetings with nearly 50 Congressional offices and agency leaderships; expressing support for unified advocacy and stewardship positions and interests through nearly 20 formal letters to Congressional offices and Federal river agency leaderships; creating digital resources that provide technical assistance and support to member organizations; leading efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts by hosting educational webinars and facilitating the development of best practices for collaboration with Indigenous Nations on river issues.

Direct Wilderness Connect, the only national wilderness-specific communications program by: developing and executing marketing and communications strategies including three website redesigns and rebranding processes with partners; curating and publishing extensive digital libraries and databases that receive nearly one million visitors annually; delivering wildlands messages through growing social media channels that engaged 41,000 people in 2021 with reach averaging 1,200 per post; crafting targeted email marketing that engages more than 2,500 advocates and interested community members with open and click rates of 39% and 17%, respectively; partnering and networking with more than 25 national and local wilderness non-profit organizations to extend reach; leading DEI communications audits; speaking at public events including the annual National Wilderness Workshop and agency and non-profit webinars.During 2011-2014, took an extended part-time sabbatical to build Wilderness50, an alliance of more than 30 wilderness non-profit organizations. Directed Wilderness50 and the Wilderness Act 50th anniversary media campaign by: fostering 850 community events reaching more than 120,000 people; curating the “Wilderness Forever” Smithsonian museum photography exhibit and television special; securing 110 corporate and media sponsorships; building a wilderness-focused social media following with a 6,000 monthly post reach; generating $500,000 in logo merchandise sales; hosting a 1,200-participant conference; securing coverage in eight major national magazines and more than 1,500 local news outlets; publishing a wilderness-focused magazine that was delivered to all Congressional offices.During 2015-2016, founded and directed Wilderness Forever, a temporary non-profit organization that hosted the first National Wilderness Workshops and launched a limited youth education grant program to dispense Wilderness Act 50th anniversary profits back into the wilderness community.
