• Freelance Art Director. Clients included: The American Lawyer Magazine, Cocktail, Corporate Counsel, First for Women, Focus Europe, Quick & Simple and Star Magazine.

• Managed all day-to-day Art Department operations for a monthly, national womens service publication, since it’s launch in August 2004.
• Assumed all responsibility for keeping the department running/staffed, including use of freelancers, to ensure all deadlines were met.
• Streamlined overall design through strategic use of color, simplified design treatments and creation of recurring franchises.
• Assisted Creative Director in conceptualizing visual approach to pages.
• Ran daily color shows with imaging representative. Approved color at both scatter and composed page stages.
• Layout, design and production of all types of pages: FOB, Features (including multiple-spread special sections), BOB and the cover of the magazine.

• Originally hired at Bauer as Associate Art Director of a launch. After a few months the project was shelved. I was told that they wanted to keep me within the organization and offered me a position at any of the titles.
• Managed all Art Department operations for national womens service publication (avg. single copy sales per issue over 1.2 million).
• Re-directed the “look” of the magazine while maintaining core reader base.
• During my time at First, it increased in single copy sales by seven percent while all other women’s service titles were in decline.
• Conceptualized visual approach to all pages within interior.
• Layout, design and production of front cover (as a single copy sales driven piece), as well as any and all interior pages.
