Role listed
Donor Engagement Manager
Philanthropy Coordinator - Charlestown
Manage the overall campaign fundraising, planning and execution for our Scholars Program and the Annual Gala, as well as our Cars for Care program. Gala and Cars for Care benefit our Benevolent Care Fund (BCF). The Benevolent Care Fund ensures a “home for life” for our residents. In our history, no resident has been asked to leave their home at Charlestown due to dwindling finances, the BCF are the funds used to make up the difference. The Annual Gala is the largest fundraising event for our community. During Covid, we transition from an Annual Gala event to a Telethon, which had not previously been done for our community. I was fully responsible for this event from start to finish. From determining the theme, planning what segments to include, securing entertainment, scripting the event, working with our internal television station to coordinate pre-taping segments, securing sponsorships-advertisers-corporate donors-raffle prizes, planning the timeline of the 3-hour event and assisting with live segments. Success of first year event exceeded amount previously raised at our Gala events. Second year of the event exceeded first year’s by $20,000. Not only was the event entertaining and educational, but extremely successful for our cause. The Scholars’ Campaign raises funds internally, which are then used for our student-employees to utilize toward pursuing their college education. In my tenure I have worked to add two new Partnership Scholarships with local universities as well as three new Named Scholarships. These scholarships are in addition to the Charlestown Scholarship that our Scholars are eligible to apply for.

Talent Acquisition Lead
At Janus USA®, our speciality was connecting military veterans to companies seeking effective, and experienced leaders with proven work ethics, discipline and values. The incredible combination of purpose, work ethic, leadership, and a tremendous drive to succeed makes hiring a veteran one of the best choices and organization can make. My goal as the Talent Acquisition lead was to successfully match these transitioning military members with organizations that appreciate, grow and retain their talent. First was understanding the needs, wants and culture of the organizations that we were placing talent with. From here we could have a better understanding when reaching out to potential candidates for a match. Another large aspect of the role was in our time talking to the potential candidates to find out what they were looking for short and long term to ensure that the positions we were offering were strong matches for both parties. A truly rewarding and humbling experience assisting this segment of candidates.
Lead Team Mentor
In my time with Tastefully Simple I did hundreds of product presentations, offering both the gourmet foods and the business opportunity. I grew a gourmet food business that marketed and sold over one million dollars worth of products, while at the same time growing and developing my team of over 100 members. In addition to product presentations I also facilitated and conducted team training sessions, coaching calls, retreats and meetings with the goal of always Training, Recognizing, Informing and Mentoring. One of the important factors of aligning myself with Tastefully Simple was that I believed in the products, and was proud to be a part of an organization with their principles and core values. These beliefs allowed me to grow my gourmet food business and my team to be among the top in the organization. Tastefully Simple is a respected member of The Direct Selling Association and offers convenience-driven gourmet foods through taste-testing experiences.
Outreach Manager (Transitional)
I have been involved with JDRF in a volunteer capacity since 2004. Holding roles as the Family Walk Team Chair, Outreach Chair and as a member of the Executive Board for the Maryland Chapter. In the midst of transitioning from a local chapter to a regional chapter I stepped in to assist with the Outreach team functions for the Maryland Chapter. While in this role, my focus was on growing our newly centralized Walk for the Cure event, both in participation numbers and fundraising dollars. We actively reached out to previous teams and individuals to motivate them to set high fundraising goals and to look for new opportunities to reach or exceed those goals. Another priority in this role was to reach more newly diagnosed families and to extend our knowledge and services to them and they navigated their new lifestyle. I revamped our Bag of Hope contents and expanded our channels of distribution through the hospitals and physicians that work with new and existing type 1 diabetics (T1d's). I introduced social events that allowed kids, families and young adults living with T1d to come together and meet others living with the disease, while at the same time introducing them to JDRF. I also expanded and improved the management of our Mentor Program.
