As a result, she has many deep and long term business relationships in the sectors. She carries with her a legacy of leadership and innovation, and remains dedicated to sharing the insights gained from what has been an immensely rewarding career.Libby recently retired from the practice of law, having served as a partner in Latham & Watkins' London office, responsible for setting up and leading that office's entertainment, sports and media practice. She led a team that bridged industry expertise with comprehensive legal services. While at Latham she served as co-head of its global Entertainment, Sports and Media Industry group and co-Chair of its London Women Enriching Business committee. Libby was previously a partner in O'Melveny & Myers and Olswang, then the premier media and entertainment law practice in the UK. She has also had management roles in these law firms. In addition, she has deep experience on several important and influential not-for-profit boards in the media and cultural sectors as a non-executive director, feeding into their strategic decision making, bringing her commercial nous, financial acumen, and her ability to get things done to the boardroom. These include the board of the BFI, the strategic body for the screen sectors in the United Kingdom, for which she was Deputy Chair. She currently sits on the governing board of the Southbank Centre, the largest arts centre in the UK . She is the chair of the Board's People and Nomination Committee.She has been at the forefront of initiatives which enhance the cultural landscape, from promoting diversity to supporting independent film. Because of her experience and expertise, she has been invited to sit on several public commissions as an industry expert, including Lord Chris Smith's Film Policy Review commissioned by the UK Government. She has a track record in mentorship and education, not the least as she has built teams and mentored careers within her law firm practice and in the media and entertainment industries.Libby was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2019 by Queen Elizabeth II for services to film and television.
