In the Laboratory of Clifford Harding, M.D., Ph.D.• Studied multiple pattern recognition receptor signaling pathways and IFN-I signaling pathway in DCs and found two different mechanisms that can inhibit IFN-I production in DCs: 1) CpG-B ODNs globally inhibit IFN-I induced by various pathways; 2) TLR2 agonists from pathogens inhibit MyD88-dependent IFN-I production.• Investigated the role of C/EBP transcription factors in regulating CIITA and MHC-II expression in antigen-presenting cells.• Extensive experience with qRT-PCR, chromatin IP, ODN pull down, Western Blotting, ELISA, cell culture, mouse work. Additional techniques: Flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy.

In the Laboratory of Cell and Signaling, supervised by Hong-Bing Shu, Ph.D.Cloned A20-interacting gene NPL4 and its mutants; Studied NPL4 function in regulating the NF-kappaB pathway using transient transfection and luciferase reporter assay.
