I am researching context dependent states of fear and extinction, through coding virtual reality environments, and running participants through sessions of fear habituation, acquisition, extinction, and post extinction. I also edit, review, and present research literature related to findings that influenced our current study.

I was an assistant in a research study that measures neural distinctiveness and GABA concentrations in older adults, headed by Dr. Thad Polk. This study aims to better understand cognitive changes that change with age. I conduct quality control on behavioral and MRS data, freesurfer edits on MRI scans, and screen participants eligibility. This data analysis is achieved through MATLAB and RStudio.

With my peers and student researchers, we analyze this qualitative data to provide a greater understanding of youth needs, and present these findings to legislators to enact change in policy.
