This HRS is made up of a secondary care Trust (covering 4 sites – Lincoln, Boston, Grantham and Louth), mental health Trust, East Midlands Ambulance Trust, Community Health Trust and 4 CCGs. I also undertake governance reviews for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and most recently have taken on work where we are the Lead CRN – ensuring that the studies we are responsible for as a network are maintained, amendments validated and classified, documents correctly submitted through CSP and communicating with other CRN’s and the devolved nations responding to queries and advising them of new submissions and changes, ensuring that they have all the documents and information that they require to make considered opinions in their own areas. I primarily oversee and support the RM&G facilitators, in the delivery of research within the CRN area, ensuring they are compliant with national regulatory and local policies requirements. The role requires me to be able to communicate to a high level with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders i.e. CRN staff at all levels, Trust R&D Managers, Chief Investigators/Principal Investigators, Lead Nurse Manager, research network nurses, supporting department staff (pharmacy, pathology, radiology etc.) CRA’s and sponsors. I am the first port of call for all queries, which are often highly complex, related to NIHR portfolio adopted studies, promoting and providing expert regulatory and governance advice and support in relation to studies for local researchers. Since starting in my role in Lincolnshire I have put in to place a robust feasibility system to support the review process enabling a decision on whether a study is feasible for the Trusts to be made at the meeting and thus speeding up the NHS permission process Show less
