My focus is on grants and program management. I help convene community stakeholders to assist with identifying gaps, data collection, and resource leveraging and lead the successful implementation of sustainable projects. I monitor ongoing projects and track metrics and outcomes while working with funded agencies to ensure the project’s smooth operation and expansion.Projects and Initiatives where I have taken the lead include:• Developed a Food Finder Map in response to COVID-19 to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them in a quick and accessible way.• Healthy Corners Store Initiative - The initiative works with community partners and small-scale store owners to assist them with introducing fresh produce as part of their store merchandise and provide convenience shoppers with healthy food options. • Food Storage Capacity Grant Request for Applications – the grant minimizes food waste by increasing the storage capacity of food pantries and other non-profit organizations that address food insecurity. Food waste decrease by 48 percent in 2020 – 2021.• Lead the expansion of the Family Weekend Backpack Program to include family-friendly-sized servings. The program offers shelf-stable family-friendly meals for children and their families. Meals are distributed on Fridays and are meant to be a weekend supplement to the school meals children receive during the week. During the 2020 – 2021 fiscal year, the program assisted 1,033 children and distributed 892,563 pounds of food. • Develop and implement a WIC Outreach Plan to increase awareness about services offered to low- income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non- breastfeeding postpartum women and infants and children up to age five.• FFA Farmers Market – The initiative increases fresh produce vendors in Belle Glade and community (resident) access to affordable fresh produce while teaching the next generation of The Glades residents agribusiness skills.
