Coming from a family packed with college professors, I’d always assumed this was my path as well. Starting as an adjunct professor gave me some free time to work a few hours a week at a new, local startup. Always imagining my future career tied to a large educational institution, I never imagined a job in small business. I was surprised to quickly fall in love with my “side gig,” and it was an easy decision not to renew my college contracts to pursue this full time.
