    The Red Hen Project is a charity which supports children and families in 5 primary schools in North Cambridge (Arbury, The Grove, Kings Hedges, Orchard Park, and Shirley).The Red Hen Project has developed a pioneering way of working with young children and their families that bridges the school setting and the local community. Red Hen supports vulnerable children and their families, and supports the development of positive relationships between schools and their communities. Red Hen also; develops inter agency liaison and co-operation, develops positive parenting, develops links with other voluntary bodies in the community, and supports the development of pro-active work at an early stage.My role was to lead the project, with a focus on; - Leadership and management of the project and the staff, development and review of policies, procedures and working practices.- Developing effective monitoring and evaluation systems, for all stakeholders, including engagement with service users about development of the project.- Identifying, developing and writing bids for grants and other funding. Dealing with existing funding requirements. Successful grant funding of £350,000 secured for the project through The Big Lottery fund.- Prudent financial management of charity resources including reporting to Trustees and Charity Commission.  - Working closely with Trustees, Schools, and the Locality team to ensure that our initiatives contribute to the development of services to support children & families.- Developing opportunities for families to access support.- Developing collaborations and partnerships groups, with local community groups and organisations such as; Kettle's Yard, Fare Share, Time Credits etc.- Raising the profile of Red Hen in the local community.
