My key roles in this position were to establish strong sales relationships, produce quotes, tenders and special pricing documentation in response to customer needs, assist my partners in more effectively selling our products and increase margins by qualifying opportunities in order to maximize profit potential.This involved organizing and executing successful call out days within my accounts, providing training on our products to large sales teams, improving relationships with contacts at all levels, supporting accounts with larger (over £5k) special bids, opportunities and run-rate business and ensuring all pricing, margin & quantities were correct using strong attention to detail. I would also have to successfully communicate product information and respond to queries from large sales teams via email or phone in the most effective way possible. This required time management and prioritization skills due to turn-around time being key in closing business.A secondary role was business development which involved doing outbound calling in order to identify any new accounts that we could acquire or grow by engaging a field sales person. This was challenging as we had to obtain sensitive information such as turnover from contacts that we did not yet have a relationship with.
