I worked on the homepage of qz.com and the Quartz app, as well as wrote the Asia edition of the Quartz Daily Brief. For both products, I creatively transformed Quartz articles into fun, bite-size sections like emoji lists, pull quotes, and quizzes, as well as more standard summaries and teasers. For the Daily Brief, I also tracked down and summarized the most important business news of the day for readers in Asia. In 2021, I launched pop-up newsletters for the Tokyo Olympics and COP26. Other tasks included writing news alerts for the app, editing and proofing the Quartz Daily Obsession newsletter, and writing articles and Obsession newsletters.

I oversaw Entrepreneur.com’s network of hundreds of contributors. On a daily basis, I fielded pitches, identified and onboarded new writers, edited copy and tracked content performance using Google Analytics. I also collaborated with outside partners like Ellevate Network for the Women Entrepreneur sub-site and managed contributed articles for special projects, such as Entrepreneur’s partner content around the Reid Hoffman-hosted "Masters of Scale" podcast. In May 2018, I launched Entrepreneur.com's Europe edition and was the sole editor.I managed a team of four staff editors. In June 2017, I launched a monthly newsletter for contributors as a way to communicate with the community and share ideas and best practices. I regularly worked with our development team to build new technology tools to improve editor workflow and the contribution process for writers.

In addition to my duties as Fresh Market Editor (see below), I was responsible for analyzing site metrics for the editorial team to improve content performance. As part of these efforts, I contributed to digital initiatives that grew monthly pageviews by 10% in one year.I worked with other editors as multimedia project manager to help generate ideas and guide content. This included creating slideshows, timelines, maps, charts and interactive graphics. I also planned the multimedia calendar. In August 2014, I helped launch the IdeaXchange platform of expert contributors, and I continue to coach authors and manage community comments. One digital enhancement I proposed and implemented for our site was the use of Twitter Cards for supermarketnews.com links that are used in tweets.

As Editor of the Fresh Market section of Supermarket News, I covered news and trends in produce, meat, seafood, deli, bakery, floral, dairy and fresh meals. I regularly wrote 1000-plus-word feature articles on topics ranging from a lighthearted look at the rising popularity of kale to in-depth coverage of the latest legislation and regulation affecting the grocery industry. On a daily basis, I researched and reported news stories for the magazine and website. In addition, I oversaw all aspects of my section’s shipping process, including proofing pages, adjusting copy to fit the space, and writing photo captions and headlines. Throughout the month, I coordinated between the editors in my section and the art department to ensure the appropriate photos are procured for each story.Additional responsibilities included producing multiple monthly newsletters and reporting on location from major industry conferences, such as Seafood Expo North America and the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Convention & Expo.
