Ecological Assessment, Mapping, and Prioritization at the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Case study of ecological assessment methods by a five-person team in two Metroparks in Southeastern MI.Led field teams to identify plants in the field and complete field data collection.Completed three field-based methods and two GIS-based desktop methods to assess ecological quality of the parks. GIS maps displaying data outcomes were created by the team for each assessment method employed. Maps will be distributed to park employees to aid in the development of natural resource and natural area management plans.Main recommendation: pair a desktop GIS-based ecological assessment method with field-based confirmations.Presented findings to approximately 15 people.

Eradicated and monitored invasive species in natural areas of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.Assisted with coordination of 6 volunteer workdays consisting of 10-30 people each.
