I am just finishing up my fifteenth year in education and am looking for a career change. I believe that many of my skills will translate well into an administrative or human resources position. Teachers are effective and caring communicators that have experience presenting not only to students, but parents, colleagues, and administrators. I have an outgoing personality and would be comfortable with receiving ingoing and outbound calls, taking messages, and forwarding information to the correct parties. Teachers have many reasons to collect, track, and transform data into useful information and I believe my skills with Microsoft and Google suites make me an excellent candidate for data entry and tracking. Everything in my classroom had a label and a placement so it was easily accessible for students, colleagues, and myself. My organization strategies will have a big impact on an office's ability to run smoothly and effectively. Teachers have excellent time management skills since we are always doing multiple things at once. I have had to manage multiple student schedules during the day on top of lesson requirements, personal obligations, family responsibilities, and more. All teachers must have teamwork and collaboration skills in order to have successful classrooms. My ability to manage, delegate, and collaborate will help an administrative or human resources team thrive. I would love to discuss these and many more ways that my skills as a teacher will translate into a new career in administration and human resources.
