About Elizabeth (Rose) T.

When I was ten years old, I started ironing shirts to make a little extra money so I could buy candy. My first service sales presentation was demonstrating to prospective customers that this ten-year-old could iron effectively. (There will always be doubters.) Soon I was diversifying my revenue streams, providing lawnmowing, plant-watering, and pet-sitting services, and my procurement goal was trips and cool clothes for school. Not much has changed, though I no longer buy school clothes for myself, and I 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 eat less candy.My entrepreneurial childhood aside, I studied civil engineering in college and absolutely loved it. I then went on, however, to work in sales for 15 years. Incongruous, right? Not really. As I reenter the workforce after taking time to parent, I realize that, since my “candy-ambition era,” I have always been and always will be a problem-solver, whether that problem is how to purchase candy, or build a bridge, or deliver the technological solution a client needs.
