As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of my own consulting practice I have performed many ad hoc consulting projects. Over the years I have provided a wide range of mostly technology-related consulting services including but not limited to; strategic planning, operational planning, requirements gathering, cabling design and implementation, telecommunications consulting, and general technology consulting. During the last two decades I have primarily provided executive leadership consultation, deep pension experience consultation and consultation on an extensive range of issues related to data. Most recently, from 2019 to 2022 I was involved in a project providing pension and technology consultation to the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) for the African country of Sierra Leone.

As an Information Management Professional Associate I provided a wide range of technical support and services at the United States Embassy in Bamako, Mali in west Africa. This work was performed while living in Mali with my wife, a senior US diplomat.

As Vice President of Client Relations and Communications I was teamed with the CEO/President in managing and coordinating the work performed for pension clients. ICON Integration & Design, Inc. (ICON) is an industry leading firm that provides strategic information technology solutions and services, especially to the pension industry. ICON specializes in data - profiling, cleansing, conversion, integration, stewardship, administration, and mining. I provided deep pension expertise, executive leadership consultation and led projects including initial data quality assessments, data cleansing efforts, full data conversion projects, and much more.

Prior to joining ICON in 2012 I was the Chief Operating Officer for the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS), where I served in that role from 1998 to 2012. In this capacity I served as a member of the IPERS executive management team. I had overall responsibility for all information technology, financial reporting, auditing, budgeting / accounting, human relations, facilities management, purchasing, and other support functions for IPERS. During this time I was integrally involved in the leadership and strategic implementation of a new benefits administration system.

As Chief Information Officer I provided leadership for all departmental technology needs and projects. I served as the technology team leader and coordinated all technical personnel and resources. I provided technology planning and consulting services both within and outside the department. I developed and maintained strategic and operational information technology plans and budgets. I coordinated application development, infrastructure management, and program activities to ensure timely completion of projects with maximum utilization of available resources.

• As Coordinator of the National Crosswalk Service Center I provided products, services and technical assistance to public and private entities nationwide. I was rsponsible for obtaining and maintaining funding and Center operations. My activities included national presentations and federal agency negotiations.• As Project Manager I was responsible for a major Department of Defense initiative. My project duties included budget negotiations and management of a multi-million dollar budget. I supervised the activities of all contractors. I provided briefings to appropriate civilian and Defense officials.• As Coordinator of data processing for the Office for Planning and Programming I had responsibility for maintaining an efficient data processing environment, coordinating all activities with the Department of General Services, and providing problem resolution for all data processing activities. I had responsibility for processing and distributing all computer-readable Census data in Iowa.• As Statistical Research Analyst for the Iowa State Occupational Information Coordinating Committee my duties included collection, manipulation and analysis of planning data. These duties required knowledge of data processing and research methodologies. The postiion also, required extensive knowledge of federal laws and regulations governing employment and training program

As Data Analyst for the Sociology Department duties included extensive knowledge and use of Census data, computer programming, data analysis and interpretation. Worked full and part time in conjunction with attendance at university. Approximately equivalent to one year of full time employment.
