In 2017, I co-founded The Florida Lounge with the mission to help Brazilians to invest or relocate and live in the Orlando, Florida area. The idea for The Florida Lounge grew from our combined knowledge as entrepreneurs and our own experience relocating and investing in Florida real estate.As part of our business strategy, we negotiated an exclusive deal with the biggest builder in the United States, Lennar Homes. In less than two years, we became the biggest international sales company selling Lennar Homes abroad, branded as The Florida Lounge by Lennar Homes. This means that we are able to offer our clients the opportunity to invest in luxury homes from a trusted builder.From the start, our goal was to be more than consultants who are paid for our expertise. We decided to offer first-class personalized service to our customers by building strong relationships based on trust. That level of trust stems from our exceptional level of customer service, our expertise in the Orlando, Florida real estate market, and our own experience as Brazilian expats living in Florida. We speak Portuguese, we understand the cultural differences between Brazil and the U.S., and we understand the desire for Brazilians to live and thrive abroad, either by investing in luxury real estate or by relocating to Orlando, Florida.In addition to offering this high level of personalized client service, I am a licensed real estate broker with extensive knowledge of the Florida real estate market. With my knowledge of the many steps involved in the complex process of international relocation, I help our customers every step of the way to ensure that when problems arise, they can be resolved as quickly and skillfully as possible. This allows me to apply my skills in finance and legal issues related to real estate investing to each client’s unique situation. I am also responsible for maintaining a state-of-the-art online profile and user experience for The Florida Lounge.

As the founding partner of this company, I am responsible for multiple key duties. First, I helped develop the capital structure for the firm, and served as Director of Finance and Administration, responsible for corporate planning and control duties. I was also responsible for setting up the corporate governance structure for the company. Working with investors and prospects is another key responsibility in this role, where I managed and set goals for investor relations, marketing, and commercial strategies. As a startup, the partners wear many hats, and I am also responsible for portal management and human resources administration.

My main responsibilities included: finance and administration, planning and control, capital structure, corporate governance, and investor relations.Among my achievements at this company, I worked to attract new investors by clearly demonstrating the feasibility of the business. The company was also able to register two patents in less than three years after its formation.

I was hired as CFO of this Brookfield Group company, a global investment management services group. My duties included cash management, risk management, and corporate and planning and control. I was also responsible for setting up and maintaining multiple accounting processes within the firm. Building and maintaining relationships was another key responsibility for this position. I was tasked with analyzing new investments and establishing relationships with potential investors. I was also responsible for maintaining relationships with the company’s main stakeholders, including the executive team and major banking institutions.

My time at IBM gave me first-hand experience in management and running a department at a major global corporation, which helped prepare me for running a company of my own. I started out as a financial analyst, working on a strategic financial plan for a $4B budget for all company business in Latin America, and within two years I was promoted to a management position. My first management position involved creating and implementing a sales forecast for five sales unites in Latin America. In this role, I supported all sales executives in my territory and acted as a liaison between IBM Latin America and our global headquarters. After that, I took on a project for the Industrial Planning Department, developing and implementing a sales and performance cycle for 12 sales divisions throughout Latin America. This led to another year-long management opportunity, working on the Matrix of Latin America planning project for IBM Brazil. My responsibilities included developing a comprehensive non-operating expenses budget for all of Latin America. Ultimately promoted to Business Development Manager, I served as Financial Manager of the Retail and Transportation sales division, with a $200M US operating budget. Directly supporting the unit director, I developed a robust management system, accounts receivable strategy, and income control and direct expenses planning. My team and I also developed and implemented an IT management system to support the sales forecast process of IBM Brazil, with a $2B US budget. Once again, I was responsible for performance analysis and forecasting, this time for 50 business units, working closely with the Latin American headquarters at IBM.
