Machine Learning Engineer
Initially at Epirus, I focused on software and data engineering within a small, agile team, contributing to our flagship product, Leonidas. Responsibilities included writing embedded software modules in C++ and Python, utilizing a microservice architecture. This role enhanced my proficiency in professional code development, software planning, advanced GitHub usage, and agile methodologies. Later, I transitioned to enhance data collection and storage infrastructure. Collaborating with a colleague, I developed a distributed solution using Apache Kafka for cloud-based data streaming, organized with MongoDB. Utilizing Apache Spark for analysis and Grafana for visualization, I crafted a classification model to analyze data trends. This experience broadened my expertise in Docker, Apache Kafka and Spark, NoSQL databases, MLLib for machine learning, distributed data pipelines, data cleaning, large dataset management, and project leadership. Finally, in my role within the research and development department, I led a project to create digital twins of Epirus hardware, resulting in a cloud-based data collection system and AWS-based data pipeline setup. This initiative led to an $8.8 million contract with the Office of Naval Research. This work further developed my skills in electrical engineering, radio frequency engineering, FPGA development, SQL, AWS services, MLOps, machine learning using TensorFlow, as well as honing my leadership and project planning abilities.
Electrical Engineer
I was the lead electrical engineer for the design and production of a new mobile manufacturing facility. Designed and tested a new master control board using Eagle and LTSpice. Updated exist libraries and wrote new libraries for SPI and CAN communication protocols. Ordered and assembled peripheral circuit boards. Set up Kollmorgen drivers and motors while integrating them into facility architecture. Participated in hiring process to find my replacement.
Front End Developer
I Worked on a team to create an internal website to streamline RockSol’s internal communication network. Created internal website using HTML5 and Microsoft SharePoint 2013. Communicate with management in order to create the product they had envisioned. Used SharePoint 2013 to create online databases to store information on the cloud. Work remotely updating, maintaining, and publishing new content to the site.
