Media Ownership Monitor Project (MOM): A mapping exercise to create a publicly available, continuously updated database that lists owners of all relevant mass media outlets for selected countries. It creates transparency on who controls media and thus potentially has influence on public opinion, and to which extent dependencies exist. This research activity thrives to advocate the issue of media concentration by promoting public consciousness, as well as suitable regulatory measures to safeguard media pluralism.
