Senior Regulatory Analyst
Current• Research, interpret, analyse, investigate, review information and data to regulatory proposals from energy network businesses• Assess submissions from stakeholders including energy market participants, governments and consumer groups and be able to readily distill key issues from detailed and complex material. • Assist in reviewing or investigating complex matters in energy markets relevant to the National Electricity Law, National Gas Law, National Energy Retail Law and/or Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other regulatory instruments under which the ACCC and AER have responsibilities. • Prepare correspondence, internal staff papers, speeches and public reports, under limited direction, as well as preparing and presenting recommendations arising from investigations and reviews of regulatory and, if appropriate, enforcement matters, to AER board members and/or ACCC Commissioners.• Prepare material for inclusion in instructions to the Australian Government Solicitor and presentation to a Tribunal or Court. Liaise with officers of the Australian Government Solicitor and Counsel and attend court proceedings as required. • Represent the AER and ACCC, and maintain relationships with industry, State and Commonwealth governments and agencies, consumer groups and other related agencies.• Supervise others, work flexibly as part of a team and independently to meet area and project objectives. • Identify, recommend and implement projects.
