Thus far in my Healthcare career I have been fortunate enough to obtain some spectacular experience at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Throughout the last seven months I have been able to shadow Stew Merdian and Ashley McGowen (Directors of Practice Management) and witness what operations Directors get through on a daily basis. Throughout my time with CRMC I spent several months in a large Rural clinic and at a Women's Health Center, assisting side by side with the practice managers. I would assist with productivity reports, financials, objectives, budgets, monthly clinic meetings with physicians, directors, managers, CFO, and staff accountants. Also I would assist with payroll, month-end-close, projections, and even ordering supplies. While I was working directly in the clinics I would answer phones, send prior approvals, set appointments, approve insurance, and answer any general questions our patients had in mind before entering our clinic. As we all know, COVID has changed America forever but it has also given me the chance to learn what some proper ways of handling a pandemic are within an Organization. I was in charge of PPE inventory throughout the chaotic pandemic. I created a PPE Inventory report on excel to track each individual clinics inventory (Gloves,Masks,Goggles,Gowns,Booties,Cleaning supplies, ETC.) and together as a Sterling Physician group. This excel sheet contained on-hand inventory, on order inventory, backorders, and days-on-hand to further our knowledge on how long we could last based off our current inventory numbers. This report helped us (CRMC) stay prepared and ahead of the virus to keep not only our own staff members safe but to also ensure out patients that they were also safe in our facilities.
