Through the web site and the collection of over 6,000 items I provided comprehensive information services to families and professionals involved in early intervention services. As librarian my duties included:- Providing reference and information services to a community of parents, professionals, students, and educators.- Utilizing article databases, web search engines, online catalogs, and library automation systems to reccommend high-quality print and digital information resources.- Copy cataloging and collection maintenance of a collection of over 5,000 items. - Collaborating with professional organizations, subject specialists, and other information specialists to create information resources such as web portals, resource guides, parent tip sheets, and newsletters.- Promoting the EI Clearinghouse including exhibiting at conferences, creating and designing promotional materials, and giving presentations on the library and the value of high-quality information resources. - Supervising student assistants and graduate students in circulation and collection evaluation. - Overseeing the quarterly publication of the EI Clearinghouse newsletter, including writing and editing.

- Collected materials for the Undergraduate Library’s e-reference collection and created and updated the web page of e-reference titles.- Expanded the library’s graphic novel collection over the course of a year and a half. I utilized collection development literature within the genre to select and order over 2,500 titles.- Maintained the wiki of the Central Public Services Committee

- Performed virtual and in-person reference services, up to twenty hours a week.- Utilized chat programs to perform reference, including Trillian and IMCollaborator.- Proficient in utilizing a range of library resources from databases, to monographs, statistical resources and reference material in multiple subject areas. - Participated in weekly subject-specific reference training.- Utilizing ACRL Information Literacy instruction guidelines, lead information literacy courses throughout the semester teaching undergraduate students the research process, database search skills, and the critical evaluation of materials.- Collaborated with faculty to design instruction sessions and related instructional materials. - Supervised staffs of 4-5 student assistants and including training, answering questions, and task management. - Created topic-specific on-line library research guides.- Web design and maintenance of the library’s website using the OpenCMS content management system.

- Designed and implemented a five-session interactive instruction series covering the reference interview, reference sources, database search techniques and readers’ advisory- Staff observation and interview to determine the needs of Mahomet Public Library- Completed a series of recommendations on the organization and classification of the library’s sound recordings collection.- Created a multi-subject resource portal of free web resources.
