After working in product development at SRAM for nearly 10 years, I seized the opportunity to leverage my experience using design for six sigma and dimensional management methods and tools to mentor other engineers and implement variation management solutions throughout SRAM's global product development organization.• Teach and facilitate Dimensional Management tools and processes to over 150 global product development team members located across 3 continents and 8 different locations• Assist product development teams to translate functional customer requirements into dimensional design objectives as a means of measuring product quality• Effectively identify, understand, and manage variation effects during product development• Develop coordinated datum and assembly strategies for parts and assemblies using a top-down approach to system and sub-system development• Develop SRAM’s capability to effectively identify and manage variation during product development through the use of dimensional management practices• Develop and implement a one dimensional tolerance analysis process and Excel based tool tailored to SRAM's product development team needs • Perform advanced three dimensional dimensioning and tolerancing analysis on CAD component and assemblies

My role as a Senior Design Engineer is to be a technical leader and mentor to other design engineers and engineering support staff. On a daily basis, I strive to develop and support continuous improvement within the product development process as well as train others in effective engineering practices. In addition, my daily responsibilities include design and development of new mountain bike wheels, hubs, and attachment devices (quick releases and thru axles) where I continuously demonstrate disciplined engineering practices.Major Job Responsibilities:- Design and develop high quality, robust products that achieve project goals.- Apply SRAM engineering best practices and standard procedures in how work is accomplished. Help define and improve these best practices and procedures.- Effectively document design specifications using standard documentation practices.- Regularly collaborate and consult with other engineers, and communicate effectively with other team members.- Facilitate problem resolution within the design team and at factories and suppliers.- Effectively mitigate risks through proactive design analysis, especially as it relates to understanding effects from internal and external variability.- Provide input for development of manufacturing processes and equipment.- Act as the Technical Lead within a given design engineering team, overseeing the work of other engineers. Take an active, hands-on role to ensure that engineering problems are resolved thoroughly.- Act as a role model, mentor, and teacher to other engineers. Champion great design and best practices. Take an active role in all levels of design review. Provide design insight to other engineers, team members, and suppliers.
