Responsible for a rewrite of Prudential's PC applications to Visual Basic and COBOL II. Managed a team of 20 to 30 people that consisted of Prudential, IBM and outsidecontractors. Used a variety of tools to store input and output data (development tools,SQL Server, SQA TeamTest). Managed a team of developers and quality assurance personnel responsible for theenhancement and maintenance of Lotus Notes applications.Managed a team in analyzing the significance of what benefits a new IBM offering and toolsuite would bring to insurance industry developers and quality assurance staff. Resultswere direct input to the marketing of the IBM P390 Integrated Server, Visual AgeDevelopment Tools Suite and the Application Testing Collection. Responsible for project lead, development and quality assurance of PC applications thatmirror Prudential's Life Insurance facet of the mainframe legacy system. Several hardwareand software solutions are required to support the applications. They include MicroFocus COBOL, Windows NT, Visual Basic, Excel, Lotus 123, project management software's,TSO, MVS, TCP/IP, IBM Mainframe and personnel computers.

Worked with Prudential Direct and their business partner, Vantage, to create a mail orderlife insurance system. Responsibilities included project management for theconservation, loan, premium and renewal functions. Wrote and validated the processes forinstallation and maintenance of the systems. Software tools used in this assignmentincluded ABC Flowcharter, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Project.

Held various assignments, which included development and maintenance of a legacymainframe system using COBOL, VSAM, TSO and the PC. Worked with project leaders, andsupporting staff, to meet and install timely and effective releases. Wrote accuratesupporting documentation for all phases of the function and processes.

Responsibilities included testing a mainframe legacy system and leading the team of fourquality assurance staff members that reviewed documentation, evaluated developmentreleases and maintained the test environment for the development organization. Thisassignment required testing system interfaces, development of test cases and verificationof results to ensure excellent quality of the function. Maintained and enhanced a DOS PCbased application written in DBASE, Clipper and Blinker to validate the results of thefunction.
