1/23/23- The start of an incredible new year. I continue to grow professionally and technically in my job at the University of Minnesota. I increasingly see my role in our small (8 FTE) office as the hub on a wheel that spins both fast and slow. I support the compliance, administrative policy, and the conflict of interest programs as an administrator of those pesky "nuts n' bolts" tasks. In the last eight months or so, I've become increasingly involved with the technical administration of a proprietary database used on all system campuses for our delegations of authority. I coordinate with the developers to trouble shoot system coding issues and perform oversight on exception reports. This process includes initiating and tracking a yearly review of over 50 college units in all system campuses and documenting adherence to University policies.I love that I can contribute to the mission my coworkers and I are charged with in the Office of Institutional Compliance.3/17/2021- What a year it has been! My dreams of seeking employment in Asia were derailed by the Covid-19 pandemic. I am grateful to have been steadily employed in Minnesota...and am considering my options.I can learn almost any hard skill...but if you are looking for someone who already has those soft skills that cannot be taught (integrity, compassion, diplomacy, sense of humor and a problem-solving attitude..well, I'm your gal!
